Police kill intruder who stabbed student in New York synagogue

Levi Rosenblat was studying the Torah when he was stabbed by an intruder. Although he is in stable condition now a knife wound to the head is not an easy injury to recover from. Rosenbalt would have most likely been the only victim that night; however, police arrived promptly at the scene and faced a show down with the intruder, Calvin Peters. After lunging to attack an officer, he was shot in the chest and later pronounced dead.
I think that this just goes to show that people are plain stupid sometimes. Not only did the attacker stab someone, but her then tried to do the same to a police officer. A cop that was holding a gun! I really think that the police officer's actions were justified, and he should not face any ramifications for them. This just leads me to wonder when the next cop will be in the news for shooting someone.
I'm surprised that it isn't being called a attack on Islam. Hopefully the victim will be able to have a good life, but ya the cop shouldn't get blamed for anything since it was a distinct act of self-defense.
ReplyDeleteOh my. I can't believe someone went in and straight up stabbed a stranger for no reason! Especially in a place where the person should feel safe and protected. I wonder if this will have more of a response over time. I agree that the cop shouldn't be punished
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the motives of Calvin Peters were. You're right his actions were extremely stupid. He must have really been wanting to make a statement against Islamic people, get his name in the headlines, or kill Levi Rosenblat therefore he forgot all about his own life. Crazzzyy... it is nothing short of a miracle that Levi is still alive. That's amazing!
